Redesigning a platform to reflect a leader’s research, relevance, & reach.
Opportunity
FrameWorks Institute is a leader in the field of narrative framing, conducting research on how people perceive and respond to social issues. As they approached their 25th anniversary, they needed a website that matched the impact of their work. A design that explains their approach, showcases their research, and is engaging to the audience.
Discovery

Through research and close collaboration with the FrameWorks team, key goals were identified: clearly articulate the science and value of framing, improve discoverability for issue-specific content, enhance editorial design and legibility of long-form research, and engage both new and expert audiences with learning paths. The evolution of FrameWorks’ brand and publication system also informed the foundation for a more cohesive digital experience.
Outcomes

I translated strategy into a sophisticated, editorially driven website that demonstrates FrameWorks' expertise. My approach integrated a robust typographic system with condensed styles to organize dense information, paired with a minimal colour palette of neutral grays and off-whites for focus. Custom collage treatments combine people, objects, and abstract elements to humanize complex academic topics through thoughtful visual metaphors. The redesigned site strengthens brand authority while creating an immersive reading experience that positions FrameWorks as leading in their field.
