Challenge: Create a poster to promote an anti-oppression workshop hosted by The Graduate Student Caucus at SFU School of Communication. The poster needed to visually represent the Caucus’s goal of making a safer campus experience for the student body.
The Solution: The poster uses a hornets nest to equate to the “others” in society. The idea being that the public view hornets as a threat to their safety and daily life, rashly destroying them. Creating chaos with little thought, which is what the workshop is trying to prevent. The illustration was executed in to emulate screen prints to give it an underground activist vibe.
